As a leading institution of higher education and research and a self-proclaimed global, sustainable, and responsible university, Columbia must pursue an expansion that is accountable to its own mission and its surrounding community. I refuse to support the University until it makes substantial commitments to affordable housing, environmental safeguards, and vigorous community input in its expansion endeavors.
